MedilabSecure, an international network covering 22 beneficiary countries, is dedicated to improving integrated disease surveillance and response in the Mediterranean and Sahel regions, and we’re proud to be part of it.

To meet this objective, the workshop organized by the Institut Pasteur de Dakar in close collaboration with the Institut Pasteur (Paris) and the Institut Pasteur de Tunis – معهد باستور تونس, aims to strengthen molecular diagnostic capacities for rapid response to epidemics such as dengue fever, Rift Valley fever, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, and many others.

Over the past week, network staff, experts in human and/or animal health, have undergone comprehensive training, encompassing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills on various modules including biosafety, sequencing, decentralized mobile diagnostic tools and more.

As part of this initiative, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar, through its Virology and Medical Zoology divisions, is facilitating the “𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬” workshop, by offering a pedagogical framework conducive to strengthening diagnostic capacities in the field.

MediLabSecure is an innovative project financially supported for a decade by the European Union and the Foreign Policy Instruments Service (FPI), as part of the EU’s CBRN CoE initiative.
