The Institut Pasteur de Dakar had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the West African Research Association (WARC), led by its Director, Professor Ousmane SENE, and composed of a group of eminent academic and administrative leaders from American universities, notably those from the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
Gathered under the theme “International Education and Scientific Cooperation”, these exchanges allowed the sharing of enriching perspectives on strategic topics for the IPD, including:
- The research and public health activities conducted by the Institute,
- The strategies deployed in response to COVID-19 and other health threats,
- The ambitions carried by the IPD to improve vaccination coverage in Senegal and Africa,
- The initiatives in terms of skill preparation to contribute to sovereignty in this area.
With Research, Education, Public health, and Innovation being core pillars of the Institut Pasteur de Dakar, these exchanges strengthen our commitment to building bridges between institutions and advancing science together in service of global health.
Special thanks to WARC for its essential role in promoting academic exchanges between West African and American researchers.
