On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar was honored at the 2025 National Quality Oscars ceremony by receiving the DIAMOND Excellence Award, the highest level of distinction.

This prestigious recognition was presented by His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye FAYE, President of the Republic of Senegal. It acknowledges the Institutes unwavering commitment to quality, scientific rigor, and adherence to international standards across all its laboratories and services. This prestigious event was organized by the Senegalese Standards Association (ASN).

In Africa, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar is the only facility prequalified by the World Health Organization for the production of yellow fever vaccines. It also holds several accreditations and certifications for its medical biology laboratories, water and food analysis, virology, metrology, as well as its vaccine production and rapid diagnostic test manufacturing plants.

Founded in 1924, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar works every day toward equitable, sustainable, and accessible health in Senegal, across Africa, and around the world.
