On the occasion of International Zero Waste Day, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar hosted a high-level training on biological waste management, organized by its Regional Centre of Excellence for Biosafety and Biosecurity Training in West Africa (RCoEBB  Africa CDC ), from March 24 to 28, 2025, at CARE – IPD.

The objective was to train a new generation of experts capable of effectively managing biological waste to strengthen public health and environmental safety in  East African Union Member States.

Through lectures, hands-on workshops, and case studies, participants developed key skills from handling to the safe disposal of biological waste. A Level 1 certification was awarded to those who successfully passed the final evaluation.
