On December 13, 2024, a strategic agreement was signed between the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), allocating $45 million (28 billion CFA) to VaxSen, an affiliate of the Institut Pasteur de Dakar (IPD).
This major investment was formalized during the centennial celebrations of the IPD.
🎯 Objective: Strengthen vaccine production capacity in Senegal, support local supply chains, and create a robust network for vaccine distribution across the continent. This investment aligns with the African Union’s Vision 2040, which aims to locally produce 60% of the vaccines required by 2040.
