World Patient Safety Day – September 17, 2024

At the Institut Pasteur of Dakar, we celebrate this day by reaffirming our commitment to patient safety. We focus our efforts on:

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 : With our Medical Biology Laboratory and our national and regional reference centers, we ensure access to rapid, reliable, and high-quality diagnostics for optimal patient care in Senegal and Africa.

𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 : We play a crucial role in the integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) framework alongside the Ministry of Health of Senegal (Ministère de la Santé et de l’Action sociale). We implement an effective and resilient surveillance system for early detection and rapid response to health emergencies in both regional and global contexts.

Our 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐱 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, a pioneer in rapid test production and the first ISO 13485 certified laboratory in a low-income country, provides millions of accessible and effective diagnostic tests.

C𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 : We offer vaccines that meet international standards and are developing an ambitious project to ensure Africa’s vaccine autonomy.
