On 7 April 2026, World Health Day, Institut Pasteur de Dakar (IPD) joined the global scientific community in delivering a clear message: strengthening trust in science and acting collectively to protect the health of all.
The One Health Approach: IPD’s Guiding Framework
IPD anchors all its work in the One Health vision, recognizing the deep interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health. This framework translates into four strategic pillars: integrated epidemiological surveillance, state-of-the-art diagnostic platforms and mobile laboratories, health systems strengthening across West Africa, and international collaboration through WHO Collaborating Centres.
Trust in Science: Built Day by Day
For Institut Pasteur de Dakar, trust in science is not decreed — it is built, day after day, through data transparency, methodological rigor, and cross-border scientific cooperation.
A Call for Collective Action
In line with the 2026 WHO theme ‘United for health. Supporting science.’, IPD calls for a broad mobilization: evidence-based health policies, equitable access to innovations, and individual commitment to preventive behaviors.
